The Central West Garden
and Lifestyle Expo will have one of Australia's best known authors, gardeners & tour guides Mary Moody to open this
year’s event.
Mary started her career as a cadet journalist for the Australian
Womans Weekly.
In 1992 she becoame a weekly presenter on the ABC Television gardening
program "Gardening Australia". This role continued for 9 years which combined with editing a series of organic gardening
magazines & producing several gardeing documentaries.
In 2000, Mary spent 6 months
living in Southwest France & wrote a best-selling book ( Au Revoir - Running away from home at 50).
In 2001, Mary moved to Yetholme in the Blue
Mountains to a 25 acre property. Over the past 5 years Mary has developed an extensive ornamental garden. Eventually Mary
plans to open the garden to the public & to restore the old community hall that nestles behind the farm house to run a
series of gardening workshops.
Since then Mary has followed her succes with 3 further memoirs and divides her time between
the family farm, the house in France, leading botanical walking tours in France and various regions of the Himalayas and various
guest appearances at events such as ours.
Mary
will be sharing her experiences with us during both Saturday March 19th and Sunday March 20th at the Central West
Garden and Lifestyle Expo at Borenore, 15 kilometres west of Orange.
