"Broken Gate"

24 & 25 March 2012
Enjoy a beautiful stroll through the parklike surrounds of this tree filled garden opening with Australia’s Open Garden Scheme in conjunction with the Central West Garden and Lifestyle Expo at the Orange Field Days site at Borenore.

This wonderful, spacious garden has grown with time, care and a lot of hard work. Owners Betty Anne Nannes and Terry Oliver's garden sits atop Lidster Hill, approximately 6kms from the Garden Expo site.

A particular highlight of the garden is the sweeping views from the south of Mount Canobolas and to the north east with the Mullion Ranges in the distance. What a perfect location to watch the changing seasons.
Betty Anne and Terry have kindly offered to open their garden for the first time to the public under the Open Gardens Australia.

"Broken Gate" garden is located at Lidster Hill,
on the Cargo Road, 11km from Orange, just past Nashdale Public School.

Opening as part of Australia's Open Gardens Australia, a not for profit organisation promoting the knowledge and pleasure of gardens and gardening.  Each year OGA opens the finest and most exciting private gardens across Australia to the garden-loving public. Since 1987 over $1,100,000 has been given to community garden projects across Australia and our garden owners have raised over $4,700,000 for charity.
